The 7D Mark II camera body was created to specialize in sports and wildlife photography and features a burst rate of ten images per second and a 20MP sensor. This is what led me to buy this remarkable piece of equipment because I was tired of crappy cellphone and other camera photos of my kid and his friends at school sports! The learning curve is pretty easy on this one, although I only ever scratched the surface of what this camera can really do. But for the past several years I have taken some pretty good shots of my kid and his buddies on the field and in the court! And it's a stellar camera to take on vacation, too! My son has just graduated high school and I won't need these kind of setup any longer as he goes off to college. I'm hoping someone else can use this to capture their kid's lives like I did mine!

I'll let the images do the talking. Click below to open a
Gallery of some select photos that I have taken with this exact setup since late 2017. All of these images were taken with this Canon 7D Mark II and mostly the EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II USM Telephoto Zoom lens and the EFS 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM Lens. I have pixelated all the faces of any minors in these images, so please keep that in mind.

The camera and all equipment has all been well cared for and in no way abused. Most everything was purchased in late 2017 through 2019. Typically, I keep the large 70-200mm and the 17-55mm lenses in the backpack with the camera and that can take care of about any sports or school situation, and seemed to really work out well for vacation and trips as well. I am NOT a professional photographer, but just a Dad who wanted good pix of his son. Once I got some of my favorite settings down that I liked on the camera, I found I never really had to deviate too far from them. And of course, there is still the Automatic mode that can help you out until you get more used to the manual settings. One thing about this camera is that there are hundreds and hundreds of tutorials and guides with for this model online that will help you get the shots you want!
